rite guys my pc is a c2d 1.8 clocked up to 3Ghz 2 GIg of ram 800Mhz runnin at 833 and a ati 4850 run at stock and when i play ASSASSIN CREED(v1.02) it runs fine but keeps randomly crashin and only way to stop is unclock my pc but evey outher game runs fine well its overclocked and it anoyin that i need to put my pc back to stock just to play one game so can any one help

Assassin creed is a console base game so it will push your cpu to the limet, So im guessing your cpu is overheating while playing that game, The reason why your pc dont crash while playing other games is cos there pc based games right? and they dont push the cpu to the limet. or the other games you play dont push the cpu to the limet. get a better cpu cooler.

I agree with the fact that it is most likely your CPU that is messing up, you either have too little voltage or too high temperature.

It runs fine with my 2gb ram set up so dont think it would be that. Maybe just try clocking your chip again to make sure its 100% stable and also run a test on your memory too

iv tryed Prime95/Orthos for CPU/RAM etc.
Furmark for GPU
and thay run stable thats why i dont understand way the game dosnt oh and crysis runs without me needin to unclock my pc!

(and Sleepery you can punctuate my post if you realy want to waste your and my time not my falt im dyslexic)

Have you tried stock speeds to be sure ?

Since 1.02 I haven't had any problems anymore with assassins creed.

Mine crashes every now and again too. Not that i'm bothered. The game itself is like trying to play piano. Such a shoddy console port. The controls are all over the place and no option to invert mouse?

Rubbish.

a few hours. but ASSASSIN CREED will reset my pc any around 10 to 20 mins of playin it and yeh iv tryed stock speeds to be sure and it works fine

If I were you I'd run Orthos overnight to see if it crashes the computer as it just sounds like an unstable overclock to me.

4850pro is notorious for its rubbish stock cooler and thermal paste so I'd keep an eye on the graphics card temp as well.

Assassins Creed is quite unforgiving on unstable GFX I had to lower the overclock on my 8800GT for it to stop BSODing.

its not the gpu due to it only crashin when the cpu is overclocked plus it did the same with my x1950
