and the resized version is 309 x 75 (keeping same ratio as original) so is within the rules

WOW, IE7 sucks at true file sizes. Size on disk is only 16kb but up here its inflated to well over 20kb

Sorry to ruin the end result but it needs to be under 20KB aswell.

Shouldn't be difficult, just save it in photoshop as "save for web" then as a jpeg.

No, its filesize needs to be 20KB or lower.

I'll download IrfanView (been meaning to anyway) and do some recompression, it won't look any worse.

Give me a few mins.
