OK guys why do i get such bad performance in games ???
my computer spec is.

Intel c2d e2060 1.8Ghz over clocked to 3.1Ghz (temps = idel 45c unload 75c ish)

GeIL 2GB PC2-6400C5 800MHz Vale Ram (ram is overclocked to 833Mhz)

HD4850 512Meg (stock)

GigBitye p965 DS3.

vista 32bit

i play eveything in high at 1280*1024

played hellgate london and it played at 50/60 fps with a lot of randam slow downs and jerks

GTR evo takes forever to load and when it dose it runs slow and jerks as soon as i try to turn a cornor.

Even in windows when installin a game somethimes i cant do anything till its finshed

That's deffo a Hard Disk bottleneck.

..and as anant_shah94 said, I've heard microstutter is worse for ATI cards. GTR Evo plays smooth as butter on my 8800GT.

Edit; Try turning down the draw distance for GTR.

id try things like SuperPi, and then 3dmark 0x afterwards this should help you isolate the problem, i.e if its cpu, memory, or graphics. only when you work out what the problem is can it be fixed!

open the side of your case and let some air in. i run a quadcore and i wouldnt let it go above 65 c really even oc'ed.

maybe time for a new cpu cooler also?

Have you tried reseting the overclock, voltages etc to stock.

If that sorts out the random jerkyness then thats the issue

If it doesn't you can look for something else

iv messed up here iv just ran ORTHOS for an hour and 10mins well i did my shopin and the temp got up 68c not 75c

Yeah reset all the overclocks because when i was clocking my 8800gts 320mb, it would cause slow downs and such in games. And had to have the overclock off basically.
