Damn birds!

took a medium sized bird (not as big as a pigeon) in the chest on my motorbike last year at about 50mph.

Like being punched by a heavyweight. It was all i could do to bring the bike to a stop - to allow me to get off fall on the floor howling in pain! Left a cracking bruise!

Too late in season for running over grouse mate, few months earlier and the little uns would have just spattered on the front = no damage.

hahahahahahaha

When I had my scooby that 'ate' a bird! It was wedged into the metal between the radiator and the frame of the car. No amount of poking got it out. (bird was cooked on one side too)

I 'caught' a little owl in my grill - luckily noticed it hadn't flown away and freed it. However, I did hit a badger at low speed (was horrifcally foggy) and it destroyed my driver's side wing!

aye - i hit a pheasent in northumberland not so long ago... i quickly decided it was car or bird and opted for car - thought if i hit it straight on there was less chance of damage than if i had given it a glancing blow - i must have took its head clean off and the rest of it went straight under, very lucky.

PS i shouldn't laugh but when it came out the back there was a massive explosion of feathers when the air caught it - it looked quality, like the bird litterally exploded!

What is it with suicidal birds!

I was driving down the M27 a while ago when there was what looked like a small white explosion in the air 3 or 4 cars in front of me

The next thing I know there's the remains of a seagull doing a barrell roll down the middle of the motorway..and then a nice crunching sound as the car beside me finished him off under his wheels :)
