Damn clampers!!!

*Sigh*
"Just chop them off"

Yer great - then face a case of criminal damage too - nice one.

To be fair 'what damage, there was no clamp on my car ever, what sign, there was none' basically they wouldn't stand a chance in court with so my people testifying that.

Parking Control Management eh! I've worked in a place where they 'managed' the car park. I'll bet they approached the landlord and offered to 'manage' the parking at no charge, rather than the landlord deciding there was a problem and looking round for a reputable company.
I think they might be putting their signs up so high to stop people pulling them down by the way!!

So is the road itself a private road then? If it is then surely the clamping company must have made an application to the owners to ask if they could come and clamp or is the company so dodgy that they do set up signs, clamp, grab some money and then wait till the next month.

I am pretty sure the photographic evidence they will have will indeed stand up in court.

Who was the guy on here who got clamped, along with half of the car park, and he just removed the suspension parts it was wrapped around and took it off, all whilst the clamper was standing there going mental and the Police just laughing?

SB118 :)

Can someone point me to a thread/link/explanation of when it's OK to take a clamp off without damaging it?

This seems worth me actually learning how to take off a wheel just for this.

You can take off a clamp so long as you don't damage it, and as long as it isn't a government clamp.

I would just take the ruddy thing off one way or another. If they are not around, How would they know?

. Then I would dispose of said clamp soemwhere.

Do the honourable thing, cover your face, cut all the clamps off, cut the sign down, pile all the clamps up on the grass and give the v's to the security cameras if there are any.

You've cut all the clamps off all the vehicles, they won't have a clue who did it because it's just 1 person doing all the vehicles.

Yes this was right outside the auctions in Wymondham. The irony is that the main Police Station is right opposite, and all the passing cops could say was that they were within their rights to remove the clamps without damaging them. The signs were ziptied up, nothing permanent about them.

The auctioneers did their best to pack and double park everyone in their carpark, but there were too many cars. They didn't sanction the clamping, it was whoever owned the industrial park.

Pretty crappy thing to do and hopefully those clamped can get their money back. The must have taken close to £10k this morning. They could have coned off the road.....! Grrrr

I doubt they were even authorised to be there, also doubt that any one person controls the whole road.

I've been clamped along with two others on Network Rail property whilst I was working on a contract for them. What seemed to confuse the clampers is the fact that I parked there with a normal rented company vehicle and not a marked NWR van so they just clamped without investigating further. Out came the disc cutter and 6 minutes later we were all on our way to a breakfast cafe :) . Never heard anything again.

If you attach something to my vehicle, I have the right to remove it.

Otherwise I could go around throwing eggs on people's cars and then sueing them for the cost when they clean it off?

The clampers could do whatever they like, it'd not stop me cutting the clamp off.

they have actually been doing it since the site opened all the resident who moved in early on got a warning letter about it and there customers including the auction

they moved from norwich to a bigger site with crap parking and lead you to believe there sorry for you there hardly ever got full could easily put the cars in simple formation ala proper auction (bedford colchester etc) site and open the parking to there paying customers who they need badly to buy the crud they sell in there.

that portion of wymondham is private road and they operate that parking more than once not all the time its easier to jump in and sting people who forget like this happening

but on the whole they have signs up warning all the time so parker beware.
