Just started watching Game of Thrones myself and I am absolutely hooked. One of the best TV shows out there imo.

Loving the gratuitous nudity in GoT. The bird with dragons is off the hook!

Boardwalk Empire was another brilliant US show - almost forgot that one.

Ah, another one I want to put on our must watch list. Game of thrones seems to have huge hype at work. Worthy of such hype then?

Combine an amazing book series that has won loads of critical acclaim and awards as being some of the best in modern literature in its genre with its only issue being pacing, with HBO writers who fix the pacing and convert it to HBO standard TV production and you have one of the best things to hit TV for a long long time. It really is that good.

Boardwalk Empire was another brilliant US show - almost forgot that one.

Welp, forgot that one, it's in the mix with Deadwood and Sopranos, incredible tv by the same people again, also very interesting because the era is not played out realistically on TV before this, same as Deadwood.

I would put West Wing over The Wire and so would a lot of people, both are incredible and whilst The Wire is more consistantly good and didn't have any clear on set issues, it doesn't have the magic Of Aaron Sorkin
