Dang they grow big in your part of the woods !

The ones I took near Wimbledon common are not as developed in the legs or thorax.
Perhaps a different species or not fully grown. Looking forward to the bug hunt this year :D
Do you use any fill flash or just good old sunshine?

Oh yes, I remember. This is the part of the year where all of the extroverted dragonflies and damselflies go around to MKs house for a photo-shoot and stay nice and still whilst he takes some great photos. Git.

Just sunshine for this one (Or lack of) Could really have done with some very subtle fill flash or reflector for this one as I was having to push the ISO further than I usually like it for macro stuff.

I hate you.

Love you to. x
:p

Is it that time of year again?! :D At last! Cant wait to get down the pond :)
I struggled last time getting eyes in focus, any tips MK? :D

With damselflies you mean? Aye its a bit tricky as the eyes stick out so far from the plane of the body and wings. Its just a matter of stopping the lens down enough to get the dof to cover the near edge of the eye, right back to at least the centre of the body. About f6.3 seemed to do the trick very nicely (If you have enough light for that).
