Wanted to put my E8400 in this board, as it might be better than my GA-P35-S3 at giving higher clocks. But Gigabyte site says 1st BIOS that supports this CPU is F10 and I've heard this had fubbered many boards. BTW it's a rev 2.0.

Anyone running with this BIOS OK?

Amazing board this, Got it as a "used" B Grade for under £16:eek:

I put the F10 BIOS on the board, for no other reason that I could....!!!

All works well although I can only read...

ADD new version super I/O code.

that it purports to have changed, not sure what that means..?

It would have been more useful if they could have added the "Loadline Calibration Option" which, IIRC, resolves the vdroop problem and has been used on some Gigabyte boards.

I stuck it on last night all seems well just one of the fans either CPU or RAM coolers (plugged into the PWR FAN plug) seems to be on full wack no matter what.

I will open the case tonight to find out which it is.

Infact going to try it now so if anything does go wrong i can get it sorted and be ready for the 8500 on tuesday.
Would hate to be stuck with the cpu and no board.

Hope it goes OK, please let me know either way, btw what version of the mobo do you have?

I just done it also with a rev1 board..i have an evercool vcre on my nb hooked up to my cpu fan header and set to auto in bios, it made that spin up full whack so i've set it to voltage now and all is good..so far.
