Dark days, AMD share price at lowest ever.

I was a big supporter of AMD...actually the computer I am typing this on has 1090T in it from back in the day...doing just fine.

I had an X800XT and from then on a few AMD cards before my 290 Tri-X in Xfire.

The absolute lack of support for drivers for the last 6 months in Xfire meant I jumped ship to the 980Ti after seeing what was for offer in the FuryX. I have never looked back since. AMD bought this on themselves...when hacked drivers deliver 30-50% more performance in games...people like me wern't going to hang around.

Its a shame, as competition would somewhat taper the crazy nvidia prices, but I have no sympathy for a company that doesn't care for its loyal customers...and they will pay the price. They bought it on themselves!

I thin we're a bit offtopic, but quess I have to take part in this aswell.

I did my research on 3dmark api on cpu cores on mantle when 3dmark api test was released. Basicly scaling for HT was 20% increase over non hyperthreaded core. So basicly you could call I7 4C/8T roughly 5core cpu on performance.

Think it like this under hyperthreading:

Core 0, 100% usage = 100% performance
Core 1, 0% usage = 0% performance
Total = 100% performance

Core 0,100% usage = 60% performance
Core 1,100% usage = 60% performance
Total 120% performance

Kinda shows why you can't ever max cpu usage on games, that rely of one core performance, as running mainthread while it would be running other tasks on other core would slow it down a lot.

Mah, don't care about all this share junk it's never once interested me... So long as amd produce products that's worth while to me I'll continue to buy..

If amd was to get bought out, I would like Samsung to take them on.

Well, you may not care about shares but you wont get t play with your beloved AMD products of the trends continue!

Then I'll move on simple... You might think I will only buy amd and not nvidia but you be very wrong.. I have owned nvidia in the past...

My reason for not buying nvidia isn't because am a amd fanboy it's more the fact I don't like how nvidia handle things...

Why I won't buy nvidia my own personal choice.
1. Refuse to use Adaptive-Sync, just write a driver for it.
2. Lock out amd users of Physx, even if you bought an Nvidia GPU and used amd as your top card they still refuse to let you use something I paid money for.
3. The handling of 970 vram was a complete joke.
4. Gameworks, another business practices I disagree with. Pc platform should remain open and anything to do with locking features down I disagree with..

There just for you DP..

It's all personal choice and not because I amd fanboy has you keep saying.. I have reasons.

Apative sync is a bit of a mess though really, G-Sync is tightly controlled to provide the best quality for its users. How long did AMD users have to wait for Crossfire adaptive sync support again?

At least when the GTX970 memory feature came to light publically NVidia came clean.. AMD have done everything they can to cover up the poor pump QC on Fury, they've lied about fixing it twice now. I'd much rather have GameWorks than a company who take your money and do nothing.

The problem is AMD just don't have the funds available for R&D to develop competitive products to go up against Nvidia.

This is likely due to the raising costs of cough medicine and throat sweets for Richard Huddy.

I love the "Just write a driver for it" approach to everything.
It's obviously not that simple, there's almost certainly a specification to adhere to.
Nvidia for me would be in the wrong if they didn't support it come next generation though however.
