Dark days, AMD share price at lowest ever.

Your loss.

Pretty much every GPU in history has had salvaged parts with disabled components for the lower end chips.

Nvidia lied in their marketing for the product and didn't correct the mistake for months after launch.

only when users created a programme to highlight the flaw that was causing performance degradation and made it public did nvidia even admit it was an issue.

They designed a handicapped card and sold it like a full card blatantly misadvertising the gtx 970.

They cashed in while they rode the wave. End of

And AMD never lie or mislead

**cough**Overclockers Dream**cough*

Only review models have the issue with the pump, consumer models are fine (Honestly, they totally are) :D

Who are you trying to kid, of course you're an AMD fanboy, one of their finest. If their cards came smothered in **** you'd still buy em! :o :D

dying :D

so true

The thing about the 970 issue which made me laugh the most is that those that bang on the most about it never owned one....

forums and social media circle jerks are usually started by people unaffacted with an agenda. I'm not defending nvidia but 970 is still a top selling card so it doesn't bother most people.

Sure nvidia fan boys do the same all the time but the 970 was particularly amusing from my point of view :)

Haha was thinking the exact same thing ... would it not be worth buying some shares now in the hope they get bought by Microsoft or samsung ?

samsung won't buy them and if they did Nvidia would get all the hynix HBM 2

Can't see hynix giving samsung that....

Microsoft can't buy them conflict of interests would be too great plus microsoft are very well placed in the market as it is why would they want to open up a new war which will only cost money for the next 10 years.

I would expect if anything a company like qualcom buying ATI and leaving AMD to die.

what ever happens it won't affect nvidia domestic gpu's are a small money spinner and by product of their more serious developments. I really like what they are doing with tegra and the automotive industry :)

What would happen if AMD did die though. nVidia especially will **** us over for years to come *cough* 8800 *cough*. Intel have been "reasonably" good with no real competition, but having NO competition? Who knows.
Ideally, we need AMD to have a "win" at some point and a third company join in the GPU-games. Bring back 3dfx :D

Yeah driver 14.7

FYI them leaked drivers only worked that much better because they was hacked windows 10 drivers.. Install Windows 10 and them drivers again and you would see the gains there...

They had to be hacked for them to even work on Windows 8.1.

Aren't we talking about the 300 series drivers which were hacked to work with 200 series cards?

If so they were the 300 series drivers that AMD gave you to use with Win 8/8.1, I used them hacked to run with my 290x and while I didn't see any 20% gains I did get up to 10% or so in some games which with clock to clock performance put me a lot closer to 390x numbers.

It was nothing to do with Win 10, They were the 300 series drivers that AMD gave you to use with Win 8/8.1

What turned out to be 15.7 driver... and more

3x series release driver - AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.15.1004

15.7 driver for all GPUs - AMD Catalyst™ Display Driver version 15.20.1046

People need to stop with this BS! All AMD did was release a quick driver for support on there latest GPUs...

It was kinder like an hot fix.

Put a 390x and 290x clock for clock now and you'll see they is no change. What the 300 series does do better is uses less heat giving you more room for pushing clocks up.

Hmm yeah, total coincidence that they released review drivers that just happen to include a big performance boost and they "accidentally" forgot to enable it on the 2** series when people at home could do that with a simple ini edit

yeah that massive victory that nvidia were "stupid" to lose.....

WE do however NEED AMD regardless, this industry needs competition and that's a sad fact.

I actually don't care. Mainly because if they do go bankrupt I get to LOL at people whining that Nvidia haven't done anything for ages, how prices are ridiculous etc.

Amazing how many people called for AMD's head over Bulldozer yet are now crying because Intel CPUs have shot up in price and have hit a brick wall, one Intel CBA pushing past.

You don't know what you got 'til it's gone.

They did enable it lol They released a new updated driver in 15.7... Review was for 300 series why give out drivers for other GPUs that are not getting tested/reviewed ??

It makes no sense to add other GPUs into a press driver all you doing is adding more things that can go wrong...

Get your feedback from press release and then add that into already working driver builds hence 15.7 driver release.

Simple!
