Dark messiah .... how BIG !!

From the way Steam works, I guess if you already own and have either Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, or similar installed, you'll have the 2-3GB of Source Engine files already, so you'll have less to download. Still, it's a lot of content there, and I don't think I've ever seen my Steam downloads anywhere close to my full download speed, so hopefully they'll have some option of downloading the cache files from elsewhere.

Sadly not, since my NDA has finished i can say it uses some steam files, but that only makes up roughly 15-25% of the whole download.

So is this better than oblivion?

Or is it like WoW lots of kids online?

Does one have to pay per month to play?

I went to try this at i27, downloaded all the files, ran it, BSOD, nuts, uninstalled it :(

I really need to find some stable gfx drivers...

Why do so many people think this is an MMO?

It's a single player linear RPG (A bit like half life of RPGs) that's all!!!

Because I feel the market is trying to take a piece of the WoW cake, so I am relieved its not like WoW :)

But at 10 gig, I hope they don't release an online patch.

I love Steam and all that it does, less clutter no cd/dvd's to lose no stupid serial numbers. The preload is an awesome idea aswell. Wow i remember how excited i was when i woke up the morning HL2 was being unlocked :)

I have never had an issue with it either, pre-loading now :D

Funny enough that is what i was saying to my mate lastnight as i bought Darwinia , Uplink etc. Steam is for the win imo! as stated

Further back, the multi-disc'd Phantasmagoria ;)

you couldnt do a full install of that though.

you had to change discs half way through like that kids rpg on the play station...

Final fantasy vii?

just played the demo, downloaded it via steam first off, but as i was playing it was downloading it! lol so it was slooow

uninstalled it, delete the files, downloaded the demo from gamershell and it runs sweet, good game, i felt like i was actually there!

im not bothered about the download, but i'd rather that if i am paying for it, id rather have the DVD, box and manual :)
also rinsalling a PC every few months, id rather not download it all the time!

Very good game,

When i went to Multiplay Lan - i28

They were giving away free betas about a month before it was released.

Was also a quick download a 100mb connection from a ftp server :p

well, I'm on a 2meg connection and I can get 5Gb in a couple of hours if the connection is good

Would love to know how you manage that, on 3 meg it takes me on newshosting hitting 350kbs 3hrs 30 mins ish to do 4.4 gig, 2 meg is around 240kbs mark.

If you downloaded the demo in steam, that download counts as the preload so you don't need to download anything else! Sweet! Im all downloaded, bought up and ready to lop off some heads!!

When is it out, end of the month?

I am definitely getting this game, the demo was short but incredibly fun. May not look as impressive as Oblivion but the fighting is great.
