Dark Souls 3?

I watched a stream of this on the weekend and it looked really good so pre-ordered on PS4.

I've played Bloodborne but not a Dark Souls game, what is a good noob class/setup to start with?

Theres not really a set class system in these games, granted starting class just gives you a start off point and you can then become whatever you want! I would suggest something with a shield and maybe medium armour which at a guess could be a knight class? Not looked them up want it to all be fresh :D

First uk review, 9/10 from edge

Reviewed in the latest issue of EDGE, the PS4 version was praised by the reviewer for its "will-sappingly difficult" boss fights and "tightly designed" areas, but was criticised for its familiarity during the opening third.

The game's "astonishingly handsome" world also "lacks a little of the complexity of Miyazaki and From [Software] at their best", the review states, buts its boss fights are "set in beautiful arenas and soundtracked by the finest Souls music to date".

"With Dark Souls 3, Miyazaki has ensured his studio's reputation remains intact, and delivered on our expectations," the review says, "albeit a little too closely at times."

The review does not discuss the game's performance or its online mechanics.

From what Ive read basically throw away DS2 because this is the true successor to DaS1 - tbh thats not really surprising...

This makes me happy :)

2 was a good game, i enjoyed it and got all the achievements on steam on it but it wasnt a scratch on the original or demons, it just felt too colourful, everything ive seen of 3 is dark, gritty and just what it should be like :D

Plus any lessons carried across from bloodborne is a big plus!

Do we know if this game has a chalice dungeon system like bloodborne? I felt that to be a bit of a non feature and grew old fast, i just burned through them for the platinum

Has been awesome so far, worth every penny.

Got stuck on one boss though for about 6 hours lol, the abyss watchers. Got him down to a slither of health but panicked and couldn't pull the trigger. After that it all went to **** and lost my technique and burned through all my embers and potions dying atleast 15 times. But finally got the ******* with me only having a slither of health and some how luckily pulling a combo off.

Not really used the sword arts or what ever it's called yet and pretty much used the same weapon from the beginning.

How does it run and look compared to bloodborne?

Frame rate is definitely something that will bother some, I don't usually notice it but in some areas like the cathedral the frame takes a hit. It doesn't bother me at all but I did notice it and have noticed it in quite a few areas. Also seems a bit jittery sometimes, I would say bloodborne ran better.

No crashes or any bugs so far.

This is on latest 1.01 patch

I really liked the chalice dungeons. They were really challenging and rewarding at the later lever.

Preordered this for £32 the other day when the ebay 20% off code was available.

Hoping paying full whack might actually make me try and finish it, all the previous games I've got about 80% of the way through before getting bored.

Performance has gone from doesn't bother too much to horrendous, it's stuttering everywhere now even in areas where it wasn't in the beginning for wxample at the firelink shrine which is only a relatively small base area.

Might have something to do with being later in the game and the save file being larger? It's still playable but it's right in your face constantly jittery, low fps and what seems like the character stops mid way through stride and then continues.

Xb1 version
