Dark Souls Artorias of The Abyss DLC?

Howdy all,

Being a big fan of the souls series I'm very keen to get my hands on the new content for Dark Souls, but it seems to be very quiet everywhere about this and I'm still not sure of its release date?

The dates I've heard are 23rd Oct (today) for US and 24th Oct (yep, tomorrow) for Europe, anyone know if this is the case still? Or has it been delayed?

I'm very excited about entering the dark souls world again.
 
It'll likely be Friday as that's when the Prepare to Die edition for consoles comes out :).

A quick google search suggests it's tomorrow. Just check tomorrow and if it's not there it'll almost certainly be Friday.

Yep it's today, it's out in the states.

Gotta admit, I didn't even know the Prepare to Die edition (hard copy) was being released on consoles, you learn something new every day huh :)

hopefully with people picking up the P2DE there will be some new players that can be helped and invaded :D

i have the vanilla version on ps3 and P2DE on pc in august and i have to say the dlc is very good value i found.
i will pick up the dlc for ps3 soon.

Looking forward to receiving my copy of P2D. Played the hell out of Dark Souls, well over 100 hours and level 200 something from what I remember, I think I was on my 4th play through. Its been the best and hardest game on this generation of consoles. Hopefully the expansion is as good.
 
Mine worked just fine on Xbox 360. Did you download the patch after you started the game up, mine needed an update.

I was going to do this, but changed my mind and gonna get the DLC instead... Lucky I didn't buy PTDE in the end, cos I want to use my NG+ for this.
 
You can use NG+. I am, my NG++++ level 260 character loaded up just fine and playing the extra content. :confused:

With the hard copy of Prepare to Die Edition you mean? Not the DLC, the DLC will work of course, just if I bought the Prepare to Die edition, would it recognise my NG+?
 
Yeah, the retail Prepare to Die Edition. I got it on Friday and my old save worked just fine. To get the new content to have to do a specific set of in-game tasks which aren't explained. But its all there.

PS3 or 360... cos I'm hearing over the web that the UK PS3 one doesn't seem to recognise the save games from the original. something to do with euro stock or something, although how widespread that issue is I don't know.

i think the only issue regarding getting it to work on ps3 is the new store update when you download it it makes out it installs it but for some reason me and 2 friends we had to run the 100kb install again :(
 
Been trying to play through this tonight but I remember just how hard the game is, no surprise the DLC is just as tough :D

Actually it seems they've changed some things to make it harder, especially for my character, blocking uses loads more stamina. Better practice rolling then..
 
How does the extra content work? I've got a save half way through a NG+ could I load that save and play through all the new content or would I have to start again or wait till the end of my NG+?
 
To be able to access the new content you have to open a portal in the darkroot Basin, just past the hydra. You have to kill a crystal golem there and release the trapped npc, then get the broken pendant from another crystal golem in duke's archives. The pendant opens the portal. You can do it at any point in your main game.

i ordered the prepare to die edition from zavvi after completeing and selling on the original version (ordered it over a week ago and its still not been dispatched but thats another issue)

cant wait to pick it up again, might have to follow a guide to get too the DLC area but as i will be starting a NG+ ill have plenty to keep me going and ill hope to come across it playing normally
