Dark souls ruddy hell!

Well the game is currently sold and installed on Steam and Namco have said they're working on removing GFWL... So why not worry about it when you actually have a problem?

You do not seem to understand the words "no set plans m8" this may mean it NEVER gets removed. You said it WAS being removed and going for Steam servers. I called you out for being wrong and you get all mad about it. All you need to do in the future m8 is post the truth and not some made up rubbish.

It has been confirmed that they're removing GFWL from Dark Souls and just putting it on Steam.

As said nothing is confirmed at all to this date.

Where does it say anything of the sort? They've stated that they're working on removing GFWL. The colour key shows they will remove the GFWL requirement.

It's already on distributed via Steam. I didn't mention the multiplayer at all. I was talking about the GFWL log in requirement to play the game.

As for calling me out for being wrong and me getting mad over it? What? You're a random stranger on the internet. Why would I give a toss what you think?

Blue = GFWL will be removed.

Also they've just removed the GFWL from Ace Combat, which if you look is the other game on that list of "nothing is confirmed"
Bandai Namco has recently updated Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Enhanced Edition for PC, and guess what the update brought with it? If the headline doesn't give it away, the Games For Windows Live DRM has been removed and replaced with Steamworks.

This the only confirmation we have is that they are "exploring options", they haven't confirmed what options those are or if they have made a decision yet.

That being said, the most likely scenario is moving over to Steamworks, it just depends how easy that is for them considering DS was such a hasty port.

It reminds me of games from a bygone era where you were told nothing. Very little is ever explained to you, there's no tutorials, nothing handed to you on a plate, no obvious path to follow throughout the game... It's brutal at times.

My first play on dark souls was a mess :) kept changing soul allocations etc, started going with strength til i learnt about weapon scaling then decided i wanted dex etc

Eventually finished at around 50 hours or something! Is stray demon the one in the asylum? He gave me crap when went back!

Now on a third playthrough

The first run through the game is to be seen as a huge tutorial in my eyes, learn the systems and what you want to do in your second game based on equipment you find and want to use!

Drake sword is good but can be seen as a crutch, get off it eventually as it doesnt scale with any stat

So went to replay this but big problems. Done a fresh OS install since the last time i played. So reinstalled it but couldnt get it to work. Got around this by deleting a data file. Now not got GFWL on my Windows 8 so not got my previous save file. Do i start form the beginning and do everything again or should i wait for 2?

of course its worth a second play through, even just to get you warmed up for dark souls 2

you know, i still have my wired xbox controller and dark souls installed..... i might also have to give this another go, i dont think i ever finished this actually. killed one of the last 4, the guy in the tomb of the giants after pinwheel currently part way through the dlc i think.

question is using the dark knight sword viable on the end game bosses at +5?

It's the hardest game I've ever played. I can't stand it...then I go back for more and more until I run through missing bad guys just to get to the bosses! lol

Slightly confused on where I should be heading, the gargoyle on the roof just past the big priest...that the way? Or back towards the woods past the silver lighting bolt dude?

Ruddy hell it's hard!! :)

Whats stopping me is not the 2nd playthrough but the 2nd playthrough starting from scratch ie not ng+. I did everything on my first playthrough, got all armour weapons etc so was hoping to just run through ng+ but now starting from scratch is a bit of a wounder.

Any tips for the hydra in ash lake?

Ranged is not really an option for me as I don't have many arrows, no sorcery and minimal pyro. Therfore it needs to be melee.
I have had a few heads off, but it gets me in the end. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to whether it's attacks hurt me or not. I have the Eagle shield and sometimes it will be totally effective at blocking the attacks and other times not - I am assuming that some of the heads are hitting me around the side and missing the shield. Is there a pattern or technique to this that I am missing?

Hardly the most skillful technique, but I just put on the heaviest armour I had (stone armour I think), and weathered the attacks. Took a good while to kill it but did it in the end.

Ive always got right up to the waters edge with it and just hacked away as when close it hardly ever did the water attacks. On the rare occasions it did i rolled at it so the attacks went over my head, seemed to work well.

its the attacks with the heads that are causing me most issue, i can avoid the water attacks by staying close.
I think I may have nearly cracked it. I had it down to two heads. I found that once you have one head off you need to line yourself up with that head, then the when it does the head slams your unlikely to get hit.
