Dark suit + Brown shoes =

I have a black suit with pinstripes that make it look dark brown from a distance, I wear brown shoes with that. Otherwise black shoes for everything else.

And hope you never put on any weight?

Indeed, however the idea of a suit is to buy it and wear it for that time frame.

I wear belts because I can't afford a half expensive suit at the moment, so hey....I like the break up of the clothing when a belt is applied, but that's just me...Especially if I'm just wearing a shirt + trousers.

What happened to all the men round here? :p

Stop talking about fasion ffs and get back to manly subjects like "spec me a watch", "saftey razors" and "taliban/afgan related propoganda". :D

You could be reminising about quality 80's tv like He-man, drooling over potential new Hollyoaks chicks, or even discussing the finer points of poker.....but no, you're all discussing which socks go with which trousers  SICKENING! :D :p

It's getting very metrosexual in GD

The general rule is that you should never wear shoes lighter that the jeans/trousers that you are wearing.
Light brown shoes with black/dark bottoms honestly looks ridiculous, no exceptions, think otherwise and you're destined to be a city banker. ;)

I totally disagree. 'The general rule is that you should never wear shoes lighter that the jeans'... I wear jeans with white trainers. Does this mean that I have broken the rule the same as thousands of other people? :p

Depends what 'colour' of brown the shoes are. I think some dark suits with brown shoes looks good.

haha, ok by shoes I mean proper shoes not trainers, as in for work or when going to certain bars or clubs ;):D

Dark brown shoes with dark suits look ok, although black shoes with black suits is a must, light brown or 'tan' just looks ridiculous but can be worn with light grey suits or light jeans.

oh right, ok Gok Wan :D

Dark brown suit + dark brown shoes = fine
I'd never, however, wear brown shoes with a black suit. Possibly with a navy one, but I've never owned a navy suit.

I guess only certain people can carry off black shirts, don't sweat it!

My misus puts forth this example:

He certainly carries off the black shirt well and managed to marry Danni Minogue so isn't doing too bad.[/QUOTE]

and yet he ties his tie like a schoolboy.
