I am looking for some dark sunglasses. Everywhere I look they are dark but not dark enough! Can any of you guys recommend where to look online for really dark sunglasses? I need very dark ones as it helps with my health. I get headaches if I don't wear sunglasses.

I am looking for a mac with holes cut in the pockets, if anyone has a suggestion do let me know.

(many glasses manufacturers offer different lens options, so worth checking rather than assuming you are seeing the whole range, i have some extremely dark persols if that helps)

I'm curious OP. What health issues cause the need to wear sunglasses all the time?

If you don't mind me asking ofcourse.

I answered that in my original post. I get headaches due to sunlight. When I wear sunglasses I am fine. This was noticed many years ago by my doctor when I was a teenager. Since he told me to wear sunglasses I have been fine!

I keep losing them so don't want to spend a lot but need dark ones. Looked in the usual high street shops but nothing. Did find these online though so may give them a shot as they are cheap anyway:

get yourself some ice/black/gold iridium polarized oakleys :)

This, seriously.

I have terrible eyes when it comes to sunlight and I always wore dark sunglasses as well, light ones used to make little difference and I ended up having to squint when wearing them. Particularly since I play a lot of golf so I'm often out in the open with no cover.

One day I tried a mate's pair of black polarised Oakleys (flak jackets). The lenses aren't particularly dark but the difference between them and mine was remarkable. I went and got my own set after that and now wouldn't even consider anything else.

Problem solved.

But, my Oakley polarised iridium brown lenses are really good at sunlight blocking.

Without sounding like an ass, I am genuinely confused?? Why don't you just buy similar ones to whatever you have been using for the past 'years' since your doc noticed??

I mean you are 48 now, so why are you only looking for glasses now if the condition was diagnosed when you were a teenager??

Hang on a minute. You need to use them almost all the time to avoid experiencing problems, yet you lose them regularly?

I'd probably try sorting out my inability to look after my property!

Can't say I've ever lost a pair of glasses or sunglasses.

If your requirement is really about cutting down on light because of health issues and needing the darkest tint possible, those aren't the right style of shades.

You need sunglasses that wrap around and give full coverage over your eye sockets. Those Wayfarer style sunglasses will let in light in the bridge area, compared to something more wrap around.

Letting in some light is fine.

After wearing sunglasses for 30+ years I have tried many. The ones that have worked I have eventually lost or broken only to find they were unavailable. I have bought expensive ones only to find they are not so good, plus I still tend to lose or break them!

Can't get prescription ones as tried. I am always on the look out for really dark glasses. I have a spare set in the car but they were the best of what I could find but not as good as I have tried in the past but have lost and been unable to replace! Lol

Maybe I could stab myself in the eyes and cure the problem for good!
