Dark Tower

So, I finished the last Dark Tower book! YAY! Well, that's what I thought until i made the mistake - like everyone else - and continued reading after the section which read, "If you carry on reading, you will be annoyed" or words to that effect.

And yes, I was pretty annoyed at the outcome. I couldn't help feeling SK was taking the proverbial out of his readers.

Lol. I've not read the books, but I know the ending. I know I'd be very annoyed if I'd spent all that time reading for that to happen :p.

Thats the trouble. I don't know if i would have bothered if I had known the ending prior to reading the books, which is a shame because books 1 -5 were really good.

My boyfriend said exactly the same thing :(. In a way, I'm glad he ruined the ending for me, because I'll never read them now and be so disappointed. It sucks so much when you find a good book or series, but the ending is just hashed.

The ending was inevitable, I just knew it was coming but kept reading in the hope I was wrong. The series as a whole, were brilliant. But like I've said before his endings leave a lot to be desired. But I think he kind of wrote himself into that trap to begin with.

I guess it's hard to end these big sagas, but I think had the writer not tried to be too clever the end would have been much more satisfying, even if it was a little weak.

The other thing is, do I want to read another SK book now?

Of course because you'll not be investing as much time reading them as the Dark Tower series. :p If you haven't read the Stand, do! You'll notice that the main evil from the Dark Tower is in every book and how each of them are interconnected. :)
