Darkest Dungeon

most people playing it seem to be so bad

wish the game had more cutscenes since they are so awesome.

I'm guessing there's only 2 right now and the spoken dialogue sections before any dungeons with a boss

seems like you can pretty much cheat for cash by using 4 new recruits, binning them after and getting 4 more every week and then gear up 2 proper parties with the money you make from the disposables party members

So i finally made the plunge on this tonight, After watch various streamers play it and i got hooked on the gameplay.

Game is actually really well developed even at its "early" stages, voice acting and cut scenes 10/10 hope for a lot more in future updates.

Have yet to die completed 2 dungeon quests so far and only lost 2 people :D

One thing that is hard to get out of is not getting attached to your members as they really can just die and be gone forever so easily.

they can be replaced by new blood really easily as well.

I get 4 guys every week which means I can bin 4 guys every week and just enjoy free money.

my main team is only lvl 3 though finally plucked the courage to do a lvl3 mission last night and it was so easy was a medium as well :D

guess your not supposed to upgrade you skills , armor and weapons so much :D

I think I made 17,000 coin on the mission as well

upto week 32 with 3 bosses down
leper is my fav guy they do insame dmg had a few 48dmg crits lol

This is possibly the first game to cause stress from playing haha, Just done a quest to kill the Apprentice Necromancer and here is a screenshot after i beat him trying to stay alive to complete the quest.

Wow i was stressed! but man it felt good when i killed all of them :) game is intense to say the least lol.

I am so bloody bad at this game! I can survive, but not control my stress levels. I don't have the mentality to think about organizing character positions etc..

This game is fantastic but so bloody RNG it's infuriating

Had a good run up until a dungeon where the first fight, I got hit by 4 critical hits in 5 attacks by the enemy, and 3 of my 4 attacks were dodged, the ALT F4 rage was real :p

I feel your pain bro :)

I am a sucker for this sort of game but from the bit of reading I've done I feel it needs a few tuning passes in order to be what I'd like it to be. Hopefully development work continues...

Up to week 31 now, most of my people are level 3 or 4 and I still haven't lost a single character! Though I've pussied out of my fair share of dungeon runs when it started to look dicey after a few unfortunate crit streaks from the enemies....

New patch implemented yesterday which put in some good anti-cheese mechanics meaning you can't stunlock the last enemy to fully heal up and stress heal your party before continuing. Also seems they've adjusted the numbers on hellions to bring them to a reasonable level as they were dominating before.

I feel your pain bro :)

Worst part is half of the recruits I get always have kleptomaniac, so when I buy shovels and stuff to smash open cabinets because they are trapped 9 times out of 10, some nutcase in my party auto opens it and gets trapped, then walks on one trap per halway, then eats a crit and goes insane

Have literally had a member go insane in the 3rd room on a short mission before :(

Tempted, but the mention of RNG rage puts me off. The number of times I've quit out of X-Com is unreal :D

It's honestly a good game though! No worse than XCOM for RNG, you can miss 80% shots about 90% of the time in both whilst blinded enemies not only hit but crit too

Been having great fun playing this game so far, i have been doing a no torch run for a few weeks (in game) now and it is realy not as bad as you think. Here is a link for a youtube video explaining a no torch high crit build he is doing

Okay, this game is great. Not like anything I've really played before, great art style and narration.

Sunk 5 hours in to it over the weekend.

Why is no one talking about this? It's awesome!

I find it a little boring to be honest.

Its a game with frustrating RNG mechanics (89% chance to hit and you still miss....Just annoying as hell), combined with a stress mechanic and monsters who can apply over 25% stress in 1 hit. Hit max stress and your party freaks out and its a wasted journey.

Encounter a skeleton pack with them goblet ones, 2 of them hitting 1 character and your maxed stressed in 2 rounds.

Then you have the RNG based loot, open a bookcase and your character again is either over stressed or gets a really annoying negative trait.

In the end i feel like i was a psychologist, nannying their stress states. Rather then a group of NPC's braving a dungeon.

Picked this up on Saturday and glad I did, spent about 5hrs so far and enjoying it!

My biggest gripe is how slow the characters level up. Do a dungeon, get stressed/ill, spend the next week recovering meanwhile the B Team go and do a dungeon. Rinse and repeat. That wouldnt be an issue if it didnt take about 3 or 4 dungeon runs to gain a level.

Q. Is it possible to sell equipment/trinkets you collect that are unwanted?

I don't fancy this aspect of the game at all. If you're an adventurer going into a dungeon to kill monsters and steal their loot, stress shouldn't be a surprise to you and the sort of people willing to do this would surely be mentally prepared!
