I'll wait for this, but Teki's comment about graphics really bothers me because, we can clearly see that MMO at the moment are not good, I mean Wow isn't anything special(you might say what you want about it, it still is a standard MMO but it was made by Blizzard = Success), I think we can say WAR failed but it tried to do some stuff differently, LOTRO is quite good but not there yet, EvE is for spreadsheets lovers...

The common point of these games, they are all graphically evolved, and the gameplay is dumbed down.

Personnaly, I wouldn't mind that Darkfall graphics were a bit outdated, if the gameplay is good. And even if the graphics were like crysis, you then get the same people whining because the game is stuttering when there is a large number of people.

I'll wait and see on this one, I just hope it will do good. Give me a real MMO please, not some Wow or whatnot which should be labelled as FPS

Graphics i dont really mind, as long as its not a leter X chasing letter Y's around the screen i can forgive it, depending on the game play of course.

Maybe a demo will help quash a few fears, wonder if anything will come out to settle us down..

That was not literaly speaking :o

I ment that there is no real RPG in the world of MMO that's all, it's not because you play an elf that it magically becomes an RPG, if you are still playing Arena after arena wanting point to buy armor it's not exactly RP in my mind :)
 
Looking at those gameplay videos the graphics and animations don't look very impressive at all, but as said it's probabaly because it's still using BETA client and has low-res textures.

Graphics don't bother me too much anyway, as long as they aren't terrible and as long as game play is awesome, I don't mind.

Say that and then mentioning a group of games that failed is probably not the best support for your arguement. :D

As for Darkfall, doesn't really appeal to me (I was more an EQ fan than a UO fan) but I hope it turns out alright. Sadly experience would suggest it won't do so well. :(
 
I just hope with all these new ideas - well, implimented new ideas and a new combat syste, it doesnt overwelhm people... Wow is good for what it does, its colourful, easy to play, lot of people play it, but its key is its easy to pick up..

make a mmo game a little too hard then you may loose a lot of players just from that, having said this, i for one, cant wait to see it for myself and see if it is as good as some testers have said.. The AI sounds great.

The guy I quoted said "the game concept is being constantly reinvented" and goes on to mention Mortal Online and its graphics (a game that supposedly has a similar game concept to DF and is out "in the summer"). Yet there is no game out with similar game concepts and hasn't been for years..
 
He probably hadn't even heard of Mortal Online until this thread and has admitted he was just trolling :p

Mortal Online is a FPS which is the major turn off for me no matter how pretty it looks, i dont mind the going to fps when using ranged thing but fps all the time just doesn't suite a mmo

Exactly. Making a mmo as fps is ludicrous- one of the main points of an mmo is seeing your character develop over time.. Seeing your character....
They should give the option to go to 3rd person at least.
 
Talking about me like I've disappeared, that's not very nice.

I heard of Mortal online a while ago, search this forum and you'll see the thread i started about it.
