Darksiders - Stuck :(

I've googled around and nobody seems to be as retarded as me

I've just started really, on my way to find Vulgrim. I killed the big blue lizard thing and progressed to the next room where there's 2 elevators and 2 more on the broken floor above, one of which is open.

How the hell do I get up there?

Stand in the elevator and press Alt & F4 togeather.
