If you have to pay for it, what happens if a host changes map and some of the players don't have the new maps?

CoD4: Map Pack not delayed
Infinity Ward has said that despite internet reports, the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare variety map pack has not been delayed until the 10th. "As of right now we’re pushing certification for an on-time release for April 3rd or 4th. As of right now though, I’m being told that it’s a good chance it will be released worldwide (except for Japan) tomorrow night / early-Friday morning."

Thats my concern, it's going to fragment the user base which is why i'm always against this kind of thing.
I reckon the new maps wont go into the rotation and you will have to select a new rotation on the new maps or search for that map type.
Not having them in normal rotation will be pants.
Its worth just waiting for them to be free and then play them.

Not always. Just with expansions that are usually DLC.
