Hi all!

Mixture of feelings atm, i'm confident that i will pass, but getting those butterflies because of the current weather situation...

I had my first car test cancelled because there was snow on the pavements and they didnt want to risk it.

Hope it's all cleared by tomorrow morning!

Any tips from other people who've done DAS would be greatly appreciated,, other than the usual: Stay in traffic, it eats at time, relax, and be yourself.. listing anything that you guys got minors for would be a great help!

U-turns i've got down perfectly, but emergency stops i'm sometimes a little heavy on the rear brake, i have a 2 hour lesson before hand so i can have a few practise runs on that with the same / similar road surface i'll have in the test.

wish me luck! :D

I got some minors for road positioning. Adjust your position when approaching junctions and going around corners so people can see you better.

Remember to do lots of lifesavers too.

Good luck :D

Mate youll be fine twas going to suggest having driving lesson before hand but you have it covered:cool: have an early night and good luck being Friday too your examiner maybe in a good mood;)

good luck bud. I failed a while a go for riding too slowly in bad conditions and a NSL road.

not sure going too slowly will be an issue for me, i seem to have more faith in a bikes ability on damp roads than i do in a car for some reason!

thanks for the advice, i'm sure i'll be fine, i just dont want it cancelling, it will be the height of annoying...

my first car test was Dec 05 2005 and that was cancelled because of snow!

my first bike test is Dev 05 2008 - it will be cack if it's cancelled for the same reason! :O

Sure you'll be fine mate. The day I took my test was the 5th time i'd ever rode a bike, so guess I was a bit scared of the conditions, hence I was failed for it.

You sound more confident though :D

Good Luck, sure you'll be fine,

Don't worry about the emergency stop, my only minor in my test was for locking the front wheel on the emergency stop :p

Did mine a few months ago.... if your worried about locking the back on an emergency stop then don't use the rear brake. My e stops were fine but for my test I thought 'why chance anything' and just held my foot over it, not that the examiner was even standing on that side of the bike anyway.

I remember doing my DAS, it was great fun, I actually enjoyed myself during the test! You'll be fine, just remember not to go in there too cocky else you may make a mistake.

I got no minors in my bike test so I have no advice other than "ride properly" as that's all I did!

You're a bit mad!

I've had bad experiences and some close calls in the wet with bikes :(

Although the only time a moped I had was safe to corner was when it was completly dry! Although I did managed to get the stand to scrape while going round some corners! first time I did it I poo'd myself :D

I've heard someone say that they covered the back brake with their foot but did'nt actually use it for the emergency stop to avoid any chance of locking it.

Don't go hell for leather up to a round about overtaking a car and then realise you are going too fast and have to stop and lock the rear wheel...

Though I still managed a pass so maybe you should do that!

good luck man, I was concentrating so hard at points that I nearly forgto to breathe, sure you'll be fine.
I was only worried about the turn in the road and in the end that went fine.
