Dashcams!

I have the same issue with the rain/light sensor components blocking the view of mine, but I compromised a little with the positioning as I don't want it sticking down in to the middle of the windscreen. Raymond's is too conspicuous for my liking but I think the big ugly mount on his dashcam doesn't help.

I'd have gone tighter to the mirror if it wasn't for the obstruction.

That law I think applies to entertainment systems, such as broadcasting or DVDs, not Satnavs. But I don't think you are allowed to display a live feed of recording either, but don't quote me on that, just what i've read from a couple of sources such as YouTube.

Night time test.

It looks really clear still at 2000 ISO.

What camera is that? Looks really good and clear

I was going to get the Nextbase 512G but wen I saw this, I notice there is enough differences to warrant the pricE]

This looks a decent model, was tempted by the Nextbase 4xx model as I have vouchers to spend which I can use in halfrauds. The picture in the review you posted is obviously wider, but wondering if it's a great deal better? Night time I guess is where I can really see the benefit.

I've looked but I'm struggling to figure it out, what's the difference between the plus and non plus models?

The CPL filter, which increases contrast and removes reflection (windscreen).

Delving into your collective knowledge for someone only just looking at dashcams I need a recommendation. New car due in June so looking to add front and rear from day 1. So far pretty set on the Blackvue 650 as I like the slimline design and would prefer a unit I can hard wire in and leave that isn't obvious from outside. That said I do see some people say it's too pricey for what it does. Any alternatives? Gps isn't needed but parking mode definitely is. Where I'll be parking for work is an open car park away from the office so something to monitor would be good. So far I have found the 2 channel unit with a power supply kit for £230 which seems good value but unsure just how good they are. Reading the last pages here and everyone seems to use lots of different cameras.

While I've never been in a collision with someone after driving for 10+ years, I just felt I needed one, there's been so many near misses just this year I didn't want to take any chances.

I got one after some crazy woman stopped in front of me in the middle lane of a slip road off the M25, got out and came to my car wanting directions, almost killing us both (scary with cars swerving behind me).

Too many nutters out there!

Cheers, good enough reason for the increase for me.

I am tempted by this one based on sample videos ... The worry is how new it is.

I think DOD may be a rebadge version of Nextbase or vice versa. Whereas the LS460 is the Nextbase 512G (according to the video before) and the LS470W+ is the newer model so if I am correct, then it should have the same track record as their previous model - 402g and 512g which has sold very well in the UK and got great feedbacks on Amazon.
