Hi,

Im looking for software to use to backup an internal drive onto an external one.

I dont mean run of the mill backup software to make an image should things go wrong (like backing up C Drive) but looking for software which i can use to backup the files from an internal library/archive drive onto an external one without copying everything over each time - but rather just mirroring what's happening on the internal drive onto the external.

So after the first total backup of the internal drive, it will only copy the new files over or any deletes/renames/changes over.

Kind of like MS SyncToy.

robocopy

synctoy without the GUI, runs a bit quicker

if you're on vista/7 it's part of the system already

for XP/2003, drop this into windows\system32\

basics..

robocopy /e "c:\source" "d:\destination folder"

i take it you know how to get the other commands by robocopy /? etc

I think True Image Home worth trying, there is an opportunity to make scheduled incremental backups and also the feature named nonstop backup - maybe the thing that you need. Check it out, nice stuff!

I'm using true image home and find it does everything I need and has a nice and simple to use UI.
