is there any Data only sims were you pay for data used, and don't have a monthly sub.

i've got auto steer into my tractor but to get a Ntrip signal i need a sim card, it the sort of thing were ill use the autosteer for a month in the spring and few weeks in the summer and a month in the autumn and then sit not needing any dta for the rest of the time.
it the sort of thing i want to buy 20gb that will last a year (or if it runs out i can simply buy more data)

I don't think these sorts of deals are as popular and easily available as they used to be.

I know 3 and EE used to do pre-loaded data sims. Never used any myself, but I don't think these deals will we as good value as getting a 1month rolling sim only deal which you can find online. These would likely end up cheaper than one of the data only / mobile router and wifi sim deals.

BNE do these, either as a monthly subscription or as a non-expiring one off amount. You can select which country you wish it to be valid for.

The 20Gb you ask about, on an esim, for the payg/never expires package in the UK is currently advertised at £31.15, or you can get 1Gb rolling monthly for 77p a month!

It works on EE, three and o2 networks - picks the network which works best.

How much data would the ntrip system use? I'd imagine not much.

Given you'll only need it for 3 months in the year, is it worth looking at the cheapest 30-day sim and signing up for one of those if/when needed? They can be had for £5 a month for a meagre amount of data, so £15 for the year.

Alternatively if the ntrip system doesn't need a sim, but can use wifi, you could consider putting a phone with its wifi hotspot enabled in the tractor, if it wouldn't be missed while the tractor is working. If you've a second phone (for whatever reason) then this might also be something to try out.

You can sign up with Lebara (VF network) for a low cost of £1.15 (I think) per month for the first 7 months with 15gb p/m. It's rolling, so just cancel when you don't need it, then sign up again when you do.

Edit: alternatively, how about 1p mobile (EE network), it's essentially PAYG @ 1p per MB iirc. They also have "boosts" if you know you'll be using a lot. Again, no commitment.

Recently bought a Black Friday Three Unlimited Data Sim for £129 for 21 months from Amazon which works out at £6.14 a month.
Daughter was given a Three 5G Router and it runs out in a couple of days, just hope Three don't ask for it back.
Just looked it's now back to £ 199 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0D2HWVXWX?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
You can get 10% off though.
