I have a backup drive that has the click of death, the problem is my holiday photos and work are backed on it. It is a MUST recover the data from this drive situation. :(
1. Can anyone recommend which company to use to recove the data?
2. Is it possible they could use a replacement hard drive controller to get data back?
3. The gutter is I use backup and image drives ALL the time as well as anti-surge but I was backing up to another bigger drive so I would have 2 copies when it failed.
4. Bristol is best but if you think a company in London or similar distance away is better I wil travel.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this.

Seen a Freecom branded Data Recovery Service that you buy a 3 year registration for around £30. No idea if it handles physical recovery or where you need to send drive off to.

Sorry I took so long to reply, not been online for 3 days. A friend did check the forums for me though, but he's not got an account to post with.

I have seen the Freecom branded Data Recovery Service but i was sure you must have to install their software onto the hard drive as proof your drive was working when you purchased their software. It would be great to buy freecom now then Oh dear my drives died! but i'm sure they must have thought of this. (A bit like joining the AA or RAC minutes after you break down.)

I will check ontrack, many thanks for your help. :)

Also I love spinrite! Haven't used it for years though.
