One of my PCs has just died, is it possible to connect the 2 IDE drives I have in there to another computer and have the drives set as slave to access the data? Don't want to boot from them on another computer or anything.
Also some of the files were protected by the windows user password, any way of getting around that?

Hi there,

Connecting the two drives to another PC as slaves should work fine as long as the operating system of the machine you're connected to can read the file format of the two drives. For example Windows 95 doesn't natively support the NTFS file format of XP or 2000.

Good luck!

Yep, that's exactly what I wanted to do, both drives use NTFS, same version of Windows too, cheers just wanted to check that before I go corrupting all my data somehow ;)
