Howzit Guys,

I have an external hard drive. That a friend of mine decided it would be a great idea to pull the USB cable out while it was still transfering data across it. So now when I plug it in, it asks me to format, I don't want to do that I need to get data off it first!

Is there anyway I can do it without loosing it all! :(

many thanks!

I'd remove the disk from the caddy and (providing you have a spare hard drive) just do a ghost of the hard drive.

Then you should be able to read the data from the hard drive you ghosted to. then you can delete the partition and recreate it on the external one and copy it back across.

Thats a theory, but it all depends on how badly the partition has been damaged.

Good Luck!
