I have an 2011 MBP with a second hard-drive (an optibay like arrangement)

I use bootcamp and probably use it Windows 70% Lion 30%.

On my second drive I have my photo, video and music libraries.

Simple question - can my itunes share the same directory both in Mac and Windows as an itunes library? Or will that corrupt it somehow and I need it twice.

Similar question with a dropbox folder - can I have my Mac and Windows images both point at the same dropbox folder on my 2nd drive or do I need to have it set up twice?

As far as I'm aware. Files on the Bootcamp partition are not accessible from the Mac partition, and vice versa.

I have never used Dropbox sorry.

Depends, im assuming your optibay drive is in FAT or similar so both can read it, and theres no issues using the same iTunes folder, again the dropbox folder will be fine as its all kept in sync with the cloud anyway

Why dot get a NTFS writer for Lion? That way you can drop from Lion to Windows and if your booted into Lion it will just read the Windows partition.

This will allow iTunes to read/write on osx and windows along as the library is on a NTFS partition.

As standard you'll be able to read the second hard drive but not write. mrbell1984 makes a valid point with an NTFS writer. Tuxera NTFS works fine on Leopard, has a 15 day trial as well so you can see what it's like.

If you do this you can have both sides map to the same Dropbox folder so you won't need it twice.

If you want to be able to read/write on the windows side to a Mac drive as well, you'll need something like MacDrive.
