Hey everyone,
I have a new ssd and a new hdd. I want to transfer my OS (windows 7 home premium OEM) and some other programs onto the ssd. Then i want to put everything else onto the new hdd. I will be transferring from a 1tb hard drive. The OS is not partitioned. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i should do this?
Thanks,
Sam

THE DRIVES:
WD Caviar Green 2TB Internal Hard Drive
Samsung 840 Series 250GB 2.5 inch SATA Solid State Drive
Thanks everyone :)

First, remove the links. Second, read the FAQ to understand why.

Normally cloning is the best option for moving to a new boot drive but if you need to split things across drives that's not an option. You may be better just reinstalling everything.

Thanks for replying :)
Ok so if i remove my old drive, put in the ssd and the windows 7 disc will i be able to activate it using the same code i used originally?

Yep, you can reinstall using your old key with no problems.

What I'd do is:

1) Install Win7 with only the SSD connected, including all drivers and updates
2) Install the 2Tb drive, partition and format it using Disk Management
3) Reinstall required software
4) Connect your old 1Tb drive back up and copy any data that you want to keep from it onto the new drives
