I work with a database that is an MS Access nasty, I have it generate letters from its databse via the mail merge utility in word.

However there is one field (gender) that outputs the gender into office as M or F, now since these are letters is there a way other than Find and Replace. Where I can change the F to Ms and the M to Mr. I can't tweak or poke the databse mind.

Any help appreciated possibly a macro but no idea really what I am hoping for.

Changing the Database would be the best. But what if the Ms in question is not a Ms and she is a Miss or Mrs? Sticking with M or F would be better than addressing someone incorrectly.

I thought Ms was a generic for when you dont know if they are Mrs or Miss?

We use Ms and Mr, the database doesn't handle titles. So I have to base it on Gender, thats mail merge with access for you.
