Hi there!
Ok, i'm not computer stupid, but this one has really stumped me.
I don't know if this is software, hardware... or what, i'd really love your help figuring this puzzle out.
First thing, my PC is my pride and joy, i'm a computer science student.. I work with it every day, I need it and I look after it.
I took my PC home for Christmas, plugged it in, turned it on.
I was told there was a bad checksum when it started.
I went into the bios, loaded my previous overclock profile which has always been stable, pressed save and close, it booted and it was fine. I put it down to maybe a whole load of new USBs connected etc.
Then...
My game crashes. I restart, see the same message. I worry a bit, do the same... it crashes again, I re-start, take off the overclock, and all seems fine.
I come back to uni, no overclock... boot it up, it's fine until it crashes. I'm now a bit stumped. Restart, no problems.
Then... I start it again, some icons in the task bar are invisible
I have no overclock, this is weird.
Then... I see my data says 28/12/3119
Uh hu?
I try to click it to change it, but it crashes.. so I go back into the bios and set the time right.
I restart, some icons still missing, but the time is right.
My only recent(ish) change are my new 6850 cards which replaced my single 4870.
So... any ideas why my PC is literally, just playing up and being really weird? I'm trying to link the issues, but... I just don't know how!
Any ideas?
Thanks so much!
Steve
