Dating sites

I can't bring myself to put a profile together on them dating sites, to get anything good out of them you have to compile mahoosive paragraphs about your life, what you like, what you've done in the past, what you wanna do in the future, what you had for tea last night, what colour undies you're wearing. It's just SOOOO boring filling them in!

As a result no one will really speak to you on there unless you've got an extensive profile to read through lol

The Crazy!

That bloke has disappeared off the face of the Earth! He'd not logged on to OkCupid since early November the last time I checked his profile last month, no messages, no nothing. The last time I tried to call (a week or so after the non-date), the phone was off.

So I blew raspberries in his general direction and carried on - we clicked on the phone but I do that with lots of people so meh :)

Well that's what you get with a free website - people don't have to invest anything and don't loose anything.

Have you tried DatingDirect ?

Scrap that... I see you did it the olde worlde way... add Alcohol :D :p

+1 for POF, met a few interesting women on there, and even made a good friend (even though I have a huge crush on her, but the timing was unfortunate) on it.

Taking a break though as I have realised I'm not really in a financial position to be dating at the moment :(

Read: I'm boring and I don't want people to know it.

I'm not sure what advice I could give in all honesty.

I've been a regular forum user for years, met 2 out of 3 of my long term gfs on forums, most of my friends are female, so I'm comfortable around them in general, and I am just generally honest.

Then it was just a case of searching for women in London, checking the ones who look attractive, and if their profile is engaging enough, drop em a message.

For the most part, the ones I got on with the best in terms of chatting and stuff I wasn't attracted to on a physical level, which was annoying, and then the 1 time I meet someone who ticks all the boxes, she'd just gotten out of an intense long-term thing and wasn't looking for a relationship, doh!

The latter is now a good friend, which in all honesty is probably an even better outcome than a fling that will probably just end up failing at some point, lol.

My profile if you want an idea of how I 'sell' myself:

I know what you mean about the ones you get on with are the ones you are not attracted too. I have managed to meet up with a girl on match but she isn't the best looking girl though I do get on with her so just trying to make frinds out of it.

I think part of my problem is I split for a serious relationship 2 months ago and I just always relate looks etc back to my ex :(

Like your profile it does put you across in a good light.

I did the whole circuit of sites, i'd say Match was the worse, plentyoffish is good and has the added bonus of local meets going on (ie turn up in a pub and have a laugh) so its quite good really.
Met my girlfriend of 5 months on mysinglefriend, was really quite good on there i found, good people who were willing to write proper emails and replied with more than "lol" etc.

signed up to plenty of fish nothing yet... and all my results turn up people from belfast.... no one is my type in the north east apparently .... :( :p
signed up on the site in the OP, but there were 5 people that were close to me...

eh?!

nvm I give up lol
