Bricking it at the mo as i have to take my 4 year old daughter to a special clinic at 12:30 today to have an Op to remove 4 teeth under General Anesthetic!!! She is at school at the mo so going to pick her up in a bit. She doesnt know what is going to happen!!

Don't worry about it, you made it sound like it was a major operation!

I had 7 teeth out in one go when I was a kid.

didth do me any harmth.

It’s nothing to worry about I had 4 teeth out when I was a kid under general. Children pick up on fear from their parents so man up and don’t show any fear. I say this as a parent myself.

To be honest I was excited when I had it done as a kid and from what I can remember my mum was fine. She even went shopping while I had the op done. Don’t over think it too much

Do it yourself at home?

Get some fishing wire, tie around tooth, tie the other end to an open door, get child to step back a bit, slam the door, tooth pops out. Job done. :)

p.s. Good luck, she will be fine.

Thread reminds of some great vids doing the rounds.

Such as the kid who tied a rocket to his loose tooth and fired it off to rip it out. :D Or the kid in the car on the way back from the dentist who is high as a kite, and completely off his **** on nitrous oxide :D

I had eight teeth out no joke, all from the back of the gob, the molers :(
i was bout 13, but look on the bright side i have good teeth right now.

She will be fine mate. My daughter had to have the same done a few years ago and the worst part was when they knocked her out.

She panicked because they tried to put a mask on straight away when it is easier to put it next to her and let it waft for a bit first. Only problem was it made my wife and the nurse drowsey too :D

Anything involving a general anesthetic can be worrying but I had one last year, my wife has had one this year and my son has had three this year. His last one was for major surgery that lasted about 5 hours.

They will look after her, all you need to do is drink coffee and wait.

Take a video camera and film a 'David after Dentist' style vid. :D

Everything will be fine and she will enjoy the affects no doubt. :)

Bribery and corruption normally work when you do get her there. I remember when I was young, being bribed with any toy in the toy shop if I didn't kick off and was mummy's brave little boy!!

I spent about £2k on my teeth had more teeth out than hot dinners, its a little uncomfortable but worth it in the end if the dentist recommend it. just look forward to a beautiful smile at the end of it

The worst thing about having teeth out under general was the rough hangover I got after I came round that was horrible and the cotton wool they used to pack in to soak up any blood

Funny you should say that...when me and my brothers were growing up and obviously our teeth were starting to get loose...my good ole sadistic dad:p...used to pull out a pair of pliers and yank our teeth out :/....mind you it didnt hurt all that much as the teeth we had pulled out were loose anyways.
