Been recommended them by local garage and not many reviews or tests on them.
The few user reviews I've seen range from "superb, buying again" to "replacing tyres after 1000miles".

They seem ideal for what I need - an all season tyre capable of handling a bit of snow, ideally for under £150 a tyre. I need 4 new ones for my Mitsubishi Outlander with 225/55/18s.

Or should I go something like Euroall Season AS220 PRO?
I think I've answered my own question.... Lol.

Thoughts?

Less than £500 for a set of 4 Crossclimates from Costco?

Ha, we're in Wales 50+ miles from nearest CostCo.

We have lots of hills so I'm being wary about the tyres. Turanza look ok but all reviews are on small cars on motorways so would be buying on reputation.
Cross climates seem ok. Can get them for £600 locally.
Cheers.

Results from Tyre Reviews latest test, in a dynamic table so you can weight the results according to the importance you personally put on each type of tyre performance

I am also over 50 miles from my nearest Costco.

Still make the journey to get the best price on the best tyres. But if you CBA I understand. The Goodyear Vector 4 Season G3's should be a little cheaper, and probably just as good to be honest. Or look at the Continental or Pirelli, neither of which are available at Costco. I'd be tempted by the Pirelli after the amazing review results from tyre reviews.

Easiest to buy is outweighed by best to fit in my opinion. If budget is tight then fair enough, but I would look for a well known brand ideally with some solid 3rd party tests if you can find them. Tyres have improved in recent years, just like the cars they are fitted to, but as the only thing between you and the road it worth spending a touch more to get quality/tested if you can.

Scrap all that lol

Ended up going with mobile tyre fitter who can supply and fit 4x Pirelli CINTURATO AS SF3 for less than £600.... Higher wear than some others but we'll see how we get on.

Figured it easier than trying to organise stuff around work etc.

We have had Cross Climate 2 several of our cars. Our old Discovery 3, Our Discovery 4 we just moved on, and now our Touran and my Mk5 GTI Daily.

They're excellent. I don't know why people would bother to buy another option.

I keep eyeing up a set of these but I've still got a lot of life in the Sport Contact 5's that came on the car and I'd be loathed to bin £400ish (assuming there's still the same miles again left on them) of tyres :o

I do have Sport Contact 7's (as of this morning) on my Cayman, replacing Michelin Pilot Sport 4S - however I won't be reaching for that set of keys when there is pants weather.

I went from PS4 to EfficentGrip Performance 2. I don't feel there is much in it and it is wearing well.

Crossclimate 2 is quite a bit more expensive, like £30 more each corner.
I had efficientgrips on my F11 530d from new, and they were great. Tyre failure meant I had to change 3 before putting the car back, but the remaining one had plenty life left even after 44k.

None the less, they weren't great in winter on snow / ice. Cross climates are way better, and worth the extra £30 per corner for that reason. I have run them on my Caravelle for 4 years now without issue.

Absolutely the best all season tyres - they were fantastic in snow / ice on my S4 and are also fairly 'summer biased' making them a very competent all year tyre. I'd travel and pay extra, no comparison with no name ditchfinder brands!

I don't have any experience of them, seem not widely available (at least for the sizes I use), but supposedly they are decently close to a summer tyre but with some ability in winter conditions, on paper a better balance than the CC2s for most of the UK but as before I've no experience of them personally.

My Passat came with Cross climates all round... Not sure they're necessary in the east midlands but I can't complain about them.
Do you take an MPG hit with all season tyres?

You can do - usually it is very slight, but some with more off-road kind of patterns can be a more moderate impact on fuel economy. Something you do have to remember with these tyres is that they are directional unlike the majority of car tyres these days.
