David Attenborough -Genius!

Just been watching 'Life on Air' the documentary on David Attenborough's career in media and I have to say the man is a genius. He has to be one of the single most influential people in British Televisual history. He was the first to do so many things including transmitting in colour when he was the controller of BBC 2!!!!

What a great, he's well into his 70's and showing no sign of slowing down

What amazes me though is his time as BBC 2 controller and all the daring chances he took like transmitting Wimbledon in colour when everyone said it would be an abject failure. Also so much of what we take for granted with BBC 2 (Cutting edge comedy etc.) was down to his determination for the BBC to be truly representative and to give value for money for the licence fee.
