I was going to post to say RIP he was a bit before my time, then you sit back and realise he probably helped influence half the people you listen too.

Such a loss.

Been listening to him a lot again lately, and absolutely love the Blackstar album and Lazarus in particular.

So I was really shocked when I heard the news this morning, never been affected by a musician dying before, but this has really hit me! :(
Last couple of tracks on Blackstar really are poignant.

6Music playing 'Where Are We Now?' after announcing the news and the presenters sounding close to tears was tough going!

Oh Man, I think everyone remembers and keeps in their heart, the music they grew up with in their early teens to early twenties even when you are (much) older.
I had quite a few of his albums on vinyl in the '70's:
Hunky Dory.
The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
Aladdin Sane.
Diamond Dogs.
Young Americans.

My personal favourite was 'Diamond Dogs' which some may consider a little 'dark', but each to their own.
I actually cried a little when listening to some of his tracks today.

Even if Bowie is not your thing, I think most people would agree that he was very original and a great inspiration for many artists yet to come.

RIP Starman.

Was just listening to a phone in radio show where the presenter was asking "WAS Bowie a hero to you?" and I was like "WAS? Don't tell me he's died!"

I was 12 years old in the 1970's, and was a huge fan of Bowie. Check out Bowie's album 'Live at the Tower Philadelphia'. Brilliant.

Deeply shocked. R.I.P

:(

Nope. Front row, Caird Hall, Dundee, 1973. Best concert ever. Still a fan today and listen to his first five albums all the time. The music died for me today.

R.I.P. Mr Bowie.

You old git

Just come home to find lots of abusive comments about a Bowie music cover I did a few years ago and uploaded to You Tube for a friend as a joke.
I don't have rights over it any more so can't delete it :D
People take things so seriously.

I enjoyed his music, all of it, even the tin machine stuff few bother to ever discuss.
Everyone seems to talk about a wonderfully polite gentleman when they met him, or when they chatted to him, a non egotistical man who happily discussed the world and others instead of blathering on about himself.
Didn't ever get to hear him play live, shame that.
I played starman for my daughter an hour ago, she liked it. :) Good.
