Inspired by the other artwork thread I thought I'd post to see if any other OcUK'ers were fans of David Mann. He did a lot of artwork for Easy Rider magazine, often doing centrefold pullouts. The main reason his artwork is popular is because he manages to capture the essence of what it is to be a biker. I can't put my finger on it but when I look at his work it gives me that tingling feeling in my back and on occasions induces a deep breath. It's probably something that only the bikers will understand.

I purchased a few of his prints from the US which are currently getting framed. I can't wait to get them on the walls :D
They are:

"Day Moon"

Forget the name of this one but it's my personal favourite

"Handlebars & Rain"

"Leave Your Mark"

It's not often a piece of art can take my breath away but his work just knocks me off my feet. When I look at it I can hear the sounds and feel the vibrations, something which I never thought a drawing could do. Having been on motorbikes since I was 9 years old, they are a big part of my life and I can't think of a better way to pay tribute to this that hanging Manns artwork on my wall.

So do we have any David Mann fans amongst us?

meh, looks like he has been having a mid life crisis for his whole life.

totaly not my kinda thing but then each to their own, sure some people like it.

that second ones ok, but I don't like the whole "spirit" things going on, that kinda detracts from the sureal aspects

I got really into his stuff(even though iv never been on a bike in my life) after the American Chopper episode. Some really cool stuff. R.I.P

Breasts and motorbikes then.

Well...yeah. But there's more to it than that ;)

I seen that episode a few days ago, almost a bit of a tear jerker! I ordered a print of the tribute piece which OCC had done for his wife. R.I.P. Dave.

I think I have seen some of those pictures before, but after a very quick flick through this one really made me laugh
