Dawn of War opinions?

I started playing recently, there's a few things i was wondering, do you really have to capture all the points or just a certain number because i find that aspect a little tedious after a short while?

Also is there a way to zoom out a bit more as it feels a bit too close to me?

You don't need to capture all the points; they just give you more requesition resource.

No, there is no way to zoom out. The small scale of the game would be my only big criticism.

Thanks, the zoom level takes a bit of getting used to after playing other strategies but it works well in some ways as you see more of the action up close.

What are the better sides to play as? (i've got the expansions)

IMO, DoW and its expansions (both normal and standalone) are great games, but the multiplayer is rubish. If you play against friends or decent people its fine, but the majority of people in random games are retarded and just ruin the game.

Most of Relics games are pure genious. Homeworld / Dow / CoH are the best strategy games ever made!

Just try them all and see which you like best, that's my advice. Make sure you install the Skirmish AI modf too (Google it if you need to, there's also a thread on this forum that deals with DOW mods). :)

I was never really into the 40k at all but I still enjoyed this game a lot. I think I better get some of those expansion packs I've only ever played the original.

i love the COH series, DOW came free with my COH original, i tried it for a few hours, couldn't get into it..

i think the whole super-geek side of it put me off :/

same here, came with COH, never played for ages. had a dabble for first time month or so ago.....and i love it

really good tactical blow stuff up fun :)

Love them, haven't got soulstorm yet but love the other expansions purely for the extra races in multiplayer games.

Pity it can be dodgy connecting to multiplayer games though :(
