Day Shift | Netflix

I wouldn't call Day Shift a crappy movie, its entertaining for the 2 hours it runs for, the footage a drone allows you to capture is absolutely worth it, Attenborough's latest documentaries are packed full of drone footage.

You class the camera work as impossible because you've not seen it before. Everything seems impossible until its actually done :)

The only drone footage I've seen in films recently I've hated. It's out of place and just makes me think they've used drones for the sake of using drones. I hope the trend dies out TBH.

I'd have said that was the case for about 90% of the drone footage in the first couple of years after it broke into film making but there are a lot of movies now where drone footage is used to excellent effect. Still the odd movie where it is like the crew have just discovered they can use drones to take footage and throw it in at every chance they can whether it works or not though.

The opening sequence, the initial story build and the hive bit were excellent, the rest though IMO really was not great and at least personally had zero interest in the story by the middle point of the movie - likewise the second half of the movie the action scenes had none of the originality and flare of the first half and I was pretty much switched off by the climax.

EDIT: Dunno if they ran out of budget or were told to hurry it up but lots of stuff introduced in the first half just vanished in the second half.

I don't mean impossible as in it's impressive. The opposite in fact.

Using drones in wildlife documentaries vs in movies are two very different things. It works for documentaries, not film - at least not yet.

It's a great film. Full of action, usual Jamie Foxx lines and drama. It's a film where you just enjoy the entertainment and plenty of gore to be entertained by.

Finally got around to watching it at the weekend, exactly what you'd expect, take brain out and enjoy action flick with some comedy sprinkled throughout, I liked that they tried something a little different by getting contortionists to play the bulk of the vampires to give them a different feel.

Yes but this is vampire movie or comedy?
