Hiya guys I've got Day Z on Very High settings as I'm pretty sure my 670 which is overclocked pass 680 levels should be able to keep me at 60 FPS all the time, However when I'm playing I can drop to 30-40 FPS when my GPU is at 50 percent is there any way to make it run at a higher percentage to ensure 60 FPS, I believe it's just this game though there might be some tweaks I don't know about but if any of you do please inform me.

What's your CPU usage like?

Looking at the Day Z site it's only in alpha stage. If it's also multiplayer it could also be on the server sides of things.

I would probably pop into their forums and see if there's any tips on there for extra performance.

Does sound like Day Z isn't optimised properly. As someone said, have a peruse on the official Day Z forums for any info.

This is the arma 2 engine. On your machine your doing as expected.

I get 60+ in dayz and 70+ in arma. But my draw distance is at I think 3.8k

Anyway...it's all CPU bound.

well, it isnt a worst processor. It is just an older processor.

My machine is pretty good even though its 3 years old. It is clocked at 4.11 and runs on one of the best and fasted x58 boards out there.

Yours maybe newer, but currently Intel haven't really introduced a platform to make people upgrade from a highly OC'd i7 9xx platform. those that have, have done so for multi threading improvements in other applications, rather than games.
