I've just agreed to sell my car and the buyer would like to get it taxed ASAP (SORN already applied). I am no longer insured because it was off road. Can I rely on dayinsure.com to cover me while I tax the car? I understand that they provide a PDF insurance certificate - is this enough, has anyone else been in this situation?

No, they won't give you a certificate that can be used for tax.

Best bet is to insure it properly, get the cert, then cancel.

Doesn't work. The buyer will just have to bite the bullet or not take it away til they have insured it and got the certificate.

I have actually managed to do this . I went to my local friendly post office, and the guy explained that as long as it is insured when you are physically buying the disc it doesnt matter, and was happy to sell me 6mnths tax for my peugeot.

drive it home untax not the end of the world just get it tax asap, its what i had to do, if get pulled by the cops just show proof of sale and insurance and i reckon you would be very unlucky to get any thing but a "tut tut."

Fair play you found a friendly post office. Most of the robots that sit on these counters would not do it tho I suspect.

Works well until you drive past one of their mobile ANPR setups like I saw operating from the hard shoulder of the M6 yesterday.

You don't need to worry because in your 300ZX you can hit warp speed thus avoiding the ANPR camera. Oh wait you actually drive a colt:D

Nah he does drive the 330ZX he said so.. Just idling it in the garage and he only puts it in gear when the clutch is depressed. Poor car.

it's called a 300ZX, I never said I drove it, I said I ran the engine, and it's an automatic and last time I checked there was no clutch.

would you care to explain to me why you felt it necessary to bring up the 300zx in this topic when it has nothing to do with anything?
Does it make you feel like a big man or something, impress your friends? What a sad case.
