But as for an entry-level beemer with a smoggy oil burner being far superior to a 300zx, I have to laugh.

Frankly I think that given they are the polar opposites of the motoring spectrum I think it's impossible to say which is 'superior' as none of them will ever be bought by somebody sharing even an hint of the same critera.

Actually one of the long standing members of the owners club just bought a 330d to replace his Xantia TD as a daily driver. That aside, yes I agree, if I thought diesel 3 series were crap there wouldn't be one sat on the drive.
