“Daymare: 1998” is an over the shoulder third person survival horror, with a multicharacter storydriven structure. The core mechanics will present environmental puzzles solving, useful resources gathering, very hard to kill enemies and a need for strategical approach to fights.

Daymare: 1998 is meant to bring back the atmosphere, the feeling and the mood of the 80s' and 90s' most beloved video games and movies. In those years, we saw the boom of the horror genre.

From an artistic point of view, “Daymare: 1998” is inspired by those movie and game productions. What emerges from this mix is a constant and oppressive sense of danger, helplessness, and fear conveyed by an extremely suggestive and creepy setting: a typical dirty and chaotic American little town as depicted in many productions of the 90s.

Daymare: 1998 is coming on Playstation 4 and Xbox One and it's adding a fixed camera mode.

We hope that many fan playing on console will be very happy since, in addition to the Steam PC version, the two highly desired versions for Playstation 4 and Xbox One are also coming in the initial goal, making the game playable on all platforms.
But this is not all. Following the nostalgic feeling of the game, the fixed camera mode will make all the old school survival horror fan very happy. In addition to the support of the Capcom legends, that have worked on the most important Resident Evil games, like K. Aoyama (Director of RE3) and S. Nakai (enemy designer of the RE saga), the fixed camera mode is completing the circle that begun in the 90'.

It's all early footage guys, game isn't releasing till next year.
The idea is there, old school mix with the new is what Resi fans have wanted for years if these guys can pull it off I can see it being a success.

Saw this yesterday, going to back it now also.

Was about to post it up here also but got busy. Definitely sounds like a game I would enjoy if done right.

I have backed it, this is the same guys that released some footage from RE 2 Remake. I like what I see and for only £9 feel its defo worth a gamble.

How did you get it for £9? Shows as 14 euros? They did have a 12 one, but even yesterday that was all taken :(

I really want to see fixed camera old school resident evil style. Also pre-rendered backgrounds would be great if they did it!

Edit: Just backed them for €14 :D

Surprised at the lack of interest for this game in here. I hardly back anything on kickstarter, this is my 3rd I think, but had to be done. Wish there were more games being developed like this.

This games looks really promising and I agree that I'd love for there to more games in the style of Dead Space and the later Resident Evils. I've never back a kickstrater project though so how does it work? If the developers don't make the target amount does the project get scrapped? And if that happens do all the backers lose their money?

They will only get the money and you will only be charged if the full 180,000 euro is raised. After that you just have to hope they deliver. Not been let down yet myself on kickstarter. Worse case you lose what £12-13? Not a big deal when you consider the reward if the game is completed :D

It is easy, sign up, put in card details and if it reaches goal then you get charged.

Well worth backing for that money, look at all the support they getting from CAPCOM.
