DC Mode?

Should be active if you have the RAM in the right slots and you haven't installed a third, non-matched stick.

Yes it will be faster. All motherboards are different but the most common format is: One stick in the slot closest to the CPU and the 2nd stick in the THIRD slot from the CPU. Each 'Channel' is usually colour coded so your slots might be: yellow, red, yellow, red.

So slots 1 and 3 are channel A
and slots 2 and 4 are channel B

That make sense?

The computer powers up but doesnt do anything if i stick them in the other slots, should i be able to? am i doing something wrong? doesnt make any sense to me. faulty board?

isnt that wrong?

slot 1 = channel A1
slot 2 = channel A2
slot 3 = channel B1
slot 4 = channel B2

So slots 1+2 are the same channel, hence needing to put in slots 1+3 so you get dual channel performance?

@ OP, so which slots are you using at the moment, and what is your motherboard?
