I flashed my routers firmware yesterday afternoon from the original Linksys to DD-WRT latest version. I've been experiencing some weird problems ever since. Connection speed is suddenly very temperamental and eratic and seems to jump between anything from less than 1MB to 4MB.
If I punch 192.168.1.1 into my browser to load the router interface, it sometimes takes an absolute age and often displays a text only interface. Browsing around and trying to change settings has become near impossible and i've had to reset the router (either by switching the power off or restoring to factory default settings) about 3 or 4 times already.
My connection before hand was near perfect and the only reason I upgraded the firmware was for static DHCP leasing. If I reset the router then I can access the interface no problem, but there's not a chance that i'm gonna reset the router 4 times a day just to keep a stable connection.
Have I flashed it to the wrong version of DD-WRT? Any ideas what could be causing this? I'm assuming that if worst comes to worst I can stick the old firmware back on it?
TIA
