Deployment to live is a bit tricky though

I'm not 100% certain that anyone doing a course needs to make anything "live" either.

Dev > Stage > "internal live" would be more than sufficient.

don't think everybody is affected.
yesterday when we had issues, certain websites wouldn't load at all like bbc news, but ocuk was fine
other times in the day nothing was working.

Pretty serious stuff this with millions of people affected. It's a very persistent and adaptive attack, looks like they are having a hard time controlling it.

My day was great, occurred right after Ofsted walked through the door.

How many students here weren't unable to submit work to make a deadline?

I work in a university affected by it. A pain in the hole it was. Works fine now though.

Might have affected where I work (collaterally) last night as stuff being run overnight didn't go through properly due to connectivity issues on the core network.

I remember Janet whilst I was at Kent uni. I hated it. You had to set up proxies to get internet access which meant you couldn't do any gaming outside of the uni network... that was until we setup a proxy using someones account on merlin, et viola! Though, when they got busted, they got done big style! lol
