What CPU have you got?

does it make much difference really? AMD 3700

Yes it does, otherwise I wouldn't be asking :)

On the 3700+ you have three options:

1. Drop your multiplier and increase your HTT so you run 250x9 =2250Mhz with your memory at 1:1.

2. Keep your current 200x11 stock and use the RAM divider to run your RAM at 250Mhz (this is a bit pointless, the performance gain is minimal).

3. Run your stock 200x11 with your RAM at PC3200 speeds and tighten up the timings.

The first option should give you the best performance, the slight overclock won't add any instability. The latter two will probably perform about the same.

ok cool well according to cpu z ram is at 245 on ddr500 so i might try 245 x9 see what we get. an dmaybe later i will change to 245 x 11 and get a clock of 2.7g but when it cools down a bit thanks :)

ok dave it didnt go to play!! i can boot with CPU at stock and ram at DDR500, but if i chnage the cpu to either 245 x11 or x9 it wont boot! so for now i put the ram at ddr400 and cpu at stock so its 1.1 with ram underclocked. i dont think my board will allow me to run a high FSB like 245 with ddr 500. so if i clock my cpu 245 x11 (2.7ghz) runnnin ddr400 the ram will be on 245 also practically ddr 500. reckon that will be ok?

When you say ddr400 do you mean thats the divider youre using?

You need to lower the HTT multi from 5 to 3,
Raise the ram voltage from 2.6 to 2.8,
Raise the cpu voltage to 1.45
Set all the ram latencies to auto (set them manually later)

If i were you id get the cpu speed as high as poss before worrying about ram, i doubt you will even notice the difference between your ram at 400mhz and 500mhz

DDR 400 is what the ram is set to in bios. 2.8volts is that a lot? cos there is no fan over the memory wont hurt it?

2.8V is absolutely fine, I wouldn't think twice about giving 2.8/2.9V with any RAM :)
