Hey mates :)

I wish to purchase 2GB of DDR memory (2 X 1GB), though I'm stuck regarding compatibility.
My motherboard is Abit's AN8 (NForce4 chipset.) and according to its manual accepts modules of up to 1GB - which is already great. :)

However, it also writes about single / double rank, what is it? :confused:
Also, is there still a compatibility issue between high and low density?

There's the following 1GB module I wished to purchase:
1GB PC3200 DDR 400 PC3200 2700 2100 MEMORY RAM DESKTOP

The seller replied saying I'd have to buy the following module, which is much more expensive:
1GB PC3200 DDR LOW DENSITY UNIVERSAL RAM MEMORY

Does any of you use the above chipset and able to tell?
Is the seller correct? Would I have to buy the expensive one?

Cheers and thanks. :)

It's a eBay seller selling unspecified-brand memory, you take your chances either way. Saying that, I've not heard of any specific issues with the nForce4 - he even lists the nForce4 as compatible in the first ad.

Ebay. Wouldn't touch it with a stick. The arbitrary capitalisation means I have no faith in them whatsoever, however often the advert tells me that I should trust them.

Go for it if you're prepared to lose the money were things to go wrong, otherwise I vote no.

Well, it's for office usage, not gaming, therefore I think generic memory won't be bad.
I've ordered SDRAM PC133 before and it's working great.

@Minstadave:
Could you elaborate about high-density memory? What is it for then? Just for my general knowledge.

Frankly, I haven't been able to understand whether I should get the first one or the second one.
