I rarely keep up to date on tech and stuff nowadays but find myself needing a little more RAM to keep things running smoothly since upgrading to W7, I remembered the RAM I have is 8900 and went looking only to find that nowhere sells 8900 or even so much as a mention of it in google.

So what happened to it?

I'll obviously go with 8500 but just curious as to why it no longer seems to exist :p

CPU-Z agrees with my own memory (no pun) and classifies it as pc8900

Or am I missing something totally faceslappingly obvious ? :P

What brand is it? Might have been a one off kit, i haven't seen any 1110MHz DDR2 kits before. Their was some corsair dominator pc8888 stuff but it was only one model and very expensive.

IIRC it was OCZ but can't of the top of my head remember, will have a look in my case tommorow, Pretty sure I bought it from here about a year or so ago.

Anyway cheers for the replies, away to bed good night :)

There my friend is an enigma.... its DDR2 but DDR3 its also 6400 and 8500 -this is a genuine snap i took today for a different thread.

Dont believe all you see?

Can't sleep :P

guess it could well be 8500 then, I could have sworn it was 8900 but I have to admit my memory is pretty bad.

I did try memset which reports it as 8800, might try some other stuff tomorrow and see if I get any odd results :P

Cheers for the responses :)
